2007 BUELL SUPER TT XB12STT
2007 Buell Lightning Super TT XB12STT
If motocross or off-road is your thing and you are thinking about the 2007 Buell Lightning Super XB12STT it will take you into its arms and make you feel comfortable. (The riding position is very similar to most motocross bikes).
Fire this 1203cc V-twin up and it wobbles a little bit and you may hear a low-frequency vibe that is characteristic of big-piston Harley engines. Don't be alarmed. This is said to remind you of the power plant you are sitting on. Once you start the vibration disappears. As the latest addition to the Buell Lightning family, the Super TT combines a hard core street-fighting attitude with the style of Supermoto bikes.
The Supermoto (aka SuperMotard or US TT) category is an all-around style of motorcycling combining characteristics of road racing, dirt track and motocross biking. The Lightning Super TT captures this rebellious and aggressive racing spirit. With its "45-degree engine," the Buell is just right to attack city streets. Even on drawn out corners of a long canyon run, the Lightning Super TT is powerful in every gear, at each rpm, and with each twist of the throttle. The air/oil/fan-cooled V-twin engine features the DDFI II electronic fuel injection and even the Buell "Interactive Exhaust" is fine-tuned for ultimate performance and control.
The muffler, of this 54-inch wheel base machine, is located below the engine of the belt driven machine. It has a "fat tire" in the rear, partially covered by a "clipped rear fender." The seat, 31.4 inches from the ground, lets you move far forward to use your weight to help keep the front end planted down. On tight, roughly paved roads, the 2007 Buell Lightning Super TT XB12STT is in its own element." The wide bars give you leverage to throw the bike from side to side.
Some riders have argued that Buell is taking after Harley Davidson. They claim that Buell just "throws on a few different colors and pieces of plastic and call it a new model." One diehard Honda man said all they did for the 2007 Super TT model was "raise the front fender."
The 2007 Buell Lightning Super TT XB12STT is billed as an "all around bike." It's difficult for a manufacturer to do that but Buell did it well. However, some riders say it may not be the Supermoto bike it's been called; but in the street this 401 pound bike, with just 5.63 inches of suspension travel, is coming close. “Buell motorcycles let riders own the corners and have fun, whether it’s the corners on a back highway or corners of a city street,” said Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, Buell Motorcycle Company. One rider reported that "the only problem with the frame configuration is that my knees occasionally hit it when I braked suddenly and slid forward on the banana seat."
U.S. MSRP for the 2007 Buell Lightning Super TT XB12STT is $10,295. It's available at Harley-Davidson/Buell dealerships. The stock seat is built for one. It can be transformed into a motor cycle built for two but it will cost an extra $110.
