2007 YAMAHA FZ6
If you are looking for a bike that is well suited for sport touring, commuting, or just having fun on open roads then the Yamaha 2007 FZ6 is for you. It has a "soft suspension that makes it easy on beginners." Its 599cc engine cranks out nearly 100 horsepower. When you look up the word "performance," in the dictionary, it has a picture of the Yamaha 2007 FZ6. This machine is a "technological wonder." It has captured the spirit of two-wheel adventure.
High revving engines like Yamaha's 2007 FZ6 do not like low RPMs but the FZ6 handles them well, especially around town. The FZ6 has a newly designed 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, engine. To speed it up the Tri-Axis 6-speed transmission has been optimized to accommodate the engine character of the FZ6." To slow it down this machine has Dual 298-mm discs in front and a single disc in the rear.
"Virtually all the internal engine components are built to R6S specifications, including the crankshaft, connecting rods, valve sizes, even the bore and stroke specifications. Its stainless steel under the seat exhaust system, with heat shields, looks cool and doesn’t interfere with luggage.
Some people speculated saying that Yamaha didn't expect the bike to be placed in the "Sport Touring" category. But it's hard to believe because the engineers surely knew what they were designing when they placed the already-proven R6 sport bike motor into the framework of the FZ6.
One review said the FZ6 is "the perfect starter model for the newly graduated, white-knuckle rider." Another review said the "biggest setback happens at high speed (and I mean HIGH) when the buffeting becomes almost overwhelming as it has no protection from the wind." If this is an issue for a rider, Yamaha makes an optional larger windshield for an extra $100; it provides about three more inches of height.
Another reviewer compared the Yamaha 2007 to a BMW R1200RT. He said, "I can honestly say that the FZ6 is more fun to ride and an amazing bargain! I looked at all competitive models, and (there was) no comparison." The FZ6 has a MSRP of $6,849.
There are other important factors about the Yamaha 2007 FZ6. The bike is in the "middle weight" division. It has a 599cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, inline 4-cylinder 16-valve engine." It's fuel injected has a 6-speed transmission w/multi-plate clutch that
drives the final drive O-ring chain. The FZ6 fuel capacity is 5.1 gallons. The length of the machine is 82.5 inches; its height is 47.5 inches and the seat is 31.3" off the ground. (You can purchase a seat from Yamaha that converts this into a two-person bike.) And the bike weighs in at 410 lbs.
When you hear comments like "The bike looks great; it runs great; stops great; handles great and even the "wind protection is great, I wouldn't change a thing . . . This writer would say if you think this machine is for you what are you waiting for?
